Experience:

January 1983 - February 1986 : Professional Land Surveyor with Tarboton Holder Ross & Partners - Extensive experience in cadastral survey for property development.

March 1986 - 1998 : Admitted as Partner in Tarboton Holder Ross & Partners. Appointed co-ordinating Land Surveyor for the Republic - KwaZulu Development Project for Edendale - Vulindlela. Duties include advising and co-ordination of all survey, land tenure and management matters including researching why the cadastre and registration procedures were not being adhered to.

Administering a spatial database for approximately 50 000 land parcels in the greater Edendale area for the management and development of the area, including advising on the impact of various route locations for new roads and pipelines on the properties in the area.

March 1987 : Registered as an Estate Agent

August 1987 : Registered as a Township Planner.

January 1999 : Started own land consultancy business – Greene Land

1995 : Appointed Convenor of the Cadastral research committee : Committee established by the Land Survey Profession to investigate the future of land tenure in South Africa. This involved extensive travelling both within and outside South Africa investigating other cadastral and registration systems and the shortcomings of our own system.

1995 - 1999 : Served on the Steering Committee that oversaw the drafting of the Kwa - Zulu Natal Planning and Development Act.

1996 - 1998 : Member of a Committee appointed by Minister of Land Affairs to investigate alternative methods of survey and registration.

1996 - present : Consultant to Illovo Sugar with key role in setting up and managing Illovo’s Medium Scale Farm Project whereby Illovo has delivered about 75 sugar farms to previously disadvantaged farmers

1997 - present : Appointed to Development Tribunal for the Development Facilitation Act.

1998 - 2001 : Appointed chairman of The Ingonyama Trust Board, which administers the 3 million hectares of land held in trust for the Zulu Clans by their King. This involved liaison with Traditional authorities to discuss development and the impact of development on the rights of those affected by it.
